Yogurt FYI

Yogurt has become one of the fastest growing products in the U.S. food market.  Surprisingly, this healthy dairy food was not introduced in the United States until 1977, and, because of its unique flavor and texture, it took a bit of coaxing and some persuasive marketing to get consumers on board. Now, nearly 28% of Americans eat some type of yogurt on a daily basis.

Drink to Your Health

There have been numerous studies over the years which would suggest that consuming wine (especially reds) in moderation (one or two 4-oz. glasses a day) may actually be good for you.  Surprised?  Don’t be.  Study after study has shown that the tannins in red wine contain procyanidins which help to protect against heart disease.  Moderate wine consumption has also been shown to reduce the risk of Type 2 diabetes, stroke, colon cancer and cataracts and, in general, may just prolong your life.

Beverly Hills Market customers benefit from our attention to detail as, each week, we carefully hand-select perfectly ripened fruits and vegetables for our produce area. Much of the produce is grown right here in California and delivered fresh from local distributors to our produce market each day. We carry traditional fruit and vegetable offerings, and also seek out more exotic varieties so you, our customer, has access to an abundance of produce, adding color and zest to any meal.

To Your Health

There truly is nothing more refreshing than a cool fruit (and veggie) smoothie on a warm day. The side benefit? If you throw in the right ingredients, your smoothie will not only give you a boost of energy, but will be full of antioxidants guaranteed to keep your heart ticking for a long time. We’ve all heard of them, but what do antioxidants do for us? Antioxidants strengthen our immune system and slow the aging process, but most importantly, they fight the undesirable free radicals in our body.
